The movie Pearl Harbor from 2001 was a fairly accurate film from the events of the real Pearl Harbor.
Overall, I wouldn't say this movie is bad, it's fairly well done and I would watch it again, and it definitely shows what the attack on Pearl Harbor was like, but you have to watch at least an hour of backstory and setting up the romance before you get to any of it. There's swearing and some nudity (soldiers getting shots from the nurses in their butts.) As far as sex and romance, there's kissing and suggestive language as well as a sort of sex scene that's worth skipping. There's a ton of realistic violence that could leave kids unsettled. As far as content concerns, this is a war movie (even if the love triangle does steal the show) and that should be remembered when considering watching this with the family.
The love triangle could've been done in a better way and it definitely could've worked with the movie but there were just too many things that made it not great. That being said, the whole movie basically hinges upon a love triangle between Danny, Rafe, and Evelyn. It shows the tragedy and brutality of the attack on Pearl Harbor and did a pretty good job showing the military aspects leading up to the attack. Pearl Harbor, when looked at at face value, is a pretty good movie.
